Statistics Minor [STAT]

The statistics minor focuses on methods of gathering, analyzing, and interpreting empirical data, and on communicating the results.

 

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Summarize data sets using a variety of different measures.
  2. Use regression techniques in modeling data.
  3. Use continuous and discrete probability distributions to calculate probabilities and expectations, make predictions, and test hypotheses.
  4. Identify and apply appropriate techniques in the analysis of data.
  5. Apply probability theory in decision making.

Minor Requirements: 18-24 credit hours


A. Required Courses: 12 or 18 credit hours

B. Elective Courses: 6 credit hours
